London — March 6, 2019 — ACI Worldwide (NASDAQ: ACIW), a leading global provider of real-time electronic payment and banking solutions, today announced that it will run its second Coding for Girls Camp in the UK. The global software company has teamed up with West Herts College in Watford to run the free one-day event at the college campus on Saturday, March 16.

The course is designed to introduce girls from year 5 to 8 to the world of technology and careers in high-tech professions. The interactive program will offer a crash course in computer programming, including HTML, CSS and Java. It will take place in a fun environment with the aim to make new friends and build real-world skills.

“After last year’s successful launch, we are excited to bring another Coding for Girls Camp to the UK,” said Melissa McKendry, vice president, ACI Worldwide. “This initiative is all about getting girls excited about technology and teaching them about the opportunities for women in STEM- (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) related professions. The payments and fintech industry in Europe is growing and offers fantastic career opportunities for young men and women. In the years to come, the industry will need many more skilled software engineers, computer programmers and data scientists. I firmly believe that girls need an introduction to coding and other STEM areas at a young age, so that down the road they can enter professions in the tech field.”
