Anti-Virus Issue February 2010 ACI Worldwide, Inc. has recently been made aware of an online anti-virus scam that is being carried out by a third party that appears to be recording resulting credit card transactions using the name Worldwide Software, Baku or similar names. ACI Worldwide, Inc. is not affiliated in any way with this third party and is not associated with, or responsible for, the scam being perpetrated by this third party.
ACI Worldwide, Inc. is an international provider of electronic payments software and solutions and provides software to the banks, processors and retailers. ACI Worldwide, Inc. does not sell software to individuals or offer any anti-virus solutions.
ACI Worldwide, Inc. cannot recommend any specific remedial action related to this scam; however, there are a number of online help sites which do refer to this issue and provide further information. As a general precautionary measure, no internet user should provide any credit card information or other personal information to any third party online without validating the legitimacy of the third party requesting such information and taking steps to ensure the security of the respective website.
