A Solution for Card Issuers
ACI’s Secure Authentication Server enables card issuers to enroll cardholders in the program and authenticate them during online credit and debit purchases. It provides increased card and password security, promoting consumer confidence in Internet shopping. The exchange of consumer-created personal assurance messages creates cardholder confidence that they are interacting with their financial institution during authentication and not an imposter.
Card issuers have the flexibility of allowing consumer enrollment by means of browser technology. Mass enrollment, opt-in and enrollment-at-purchase options are fully supported by the core product. The solution not only supports Internet access but also provides a framework to support a wide array of multi-channel consumer access points, including mobile devices, PDAs and digital television.
A Solution for Merchants and Merchant Banks
Merchants can take advantage of guaranteed payments from card issuers because our solution authenticates cardholder identity during online payment processing, supporting Visa’s Card Present protection. This guarantee results in reduced merchant fraud loss coupled with lower transaction costs due to fewer charge backs and disputes for cardholder unauthorized transactions.
ACI’s solution supports Visa’s specification for the 3D protocol in all Visa and MasterCard markets. This strategy provides a merchant’s program interoperability with the various specifications and standards protecting them from changing technology. ACI’s solution supports both the Cardholder Authentication Verification Value (CAVV) and the Universal Cardholder Authentication Field (UCAF) authentication techniques.
